What to see at the Mandurah Boat Show this year

boat show

The Mandurah Boat Show kicks off this weekend at the Mandurah Ocean Marina from Friday 7 to Sunday 9 October. WA’s biggest boat show features the latest and greatest boating products, family attractions, boating demos and loads of activities on and off the water.

Here’s what else you need to know.

What to see

This year organisers have seriously done their best to satisfy the broad tastes of boat and fishing enthusiasts. Here are our favourite picks from the program.

If fishing is your first, second and third love, we recommend heading to the Engel Aquatank Fishing Stage and ‘catching’ presentations by expert anglers from around Australia. Fish filleting, lures and soft plastics are just a few topics on the agenda. There’s also a handful of celebrity fishing experts taking the stage.

On the water

Kids aged between 7 and 12 can have a go at ‘Tackers Sailing’, run by Yachting WA and the Mandurah Offshore Fishing and Sailing Club. The 45-minute sailing sessions are for any child who wants to give sailing a try – no experience necessary.

Watch a boat get built

Watch the infamous Westerberg boat building team construct a boat, right in front of you. The project boat in question is a 5.5 metre, aluminium centre console with a 150hp four-stroke Honda motor – perfect for fishing offshore.

Test out boats

If you’re in the market for a new boat, or just want to take something new for a spin, head to the marina for a trial run. Conditions do apply, so you will need to speak with the dealer in charge beforehand. Head here to see what boats are on offer.

Our team will be providing free quotes and consults for people who want information on competitive marine insurance for their boat or other marine vessel. We find insurance for those who boat for leisure, and marine businesses who need cover too.

Helping the Mandurah Volunteer Marine Rescue

We are proud to be supporting the Mandurah Volunteer Marine Rescue by donating a Sea Doo Aqua Lounge 6 inflatable island as the prize for their raffle drawn on Saturday.
